How to install a home solar booster pump

The solar water heater at home is usually placed on the roof, which is prone to problems such as low water pressure and low water output from the hot water faucet. We solve it by installing a booster pump. The installation steps can be divided into the following 3 steps.

1. Prepare materials and tools

You must first prepare installation materials and tools such as automatic booster pump, adapter, raw material belt, water pipe, and wrench. Under normal circumstances, we can choose a 150w booster pump. If the water pressure in your home is too low, you can choose a product with higher power appropriately. Before installation, we also need to check the quality and model specifications of the product, etc.

2. Install the booster pump

When we install the booster pump, we can first turn off the water valve in the home and turn off the solar water heater. There are water inlets and outlets on both sides of the booster pump. We wrap a few circles of raw material tape at the water inlet and outlet, and install the adapter. The booster pump is generally installed on the outlet pipe of the solar water heater. If the water outlet pipe is a metal hose, we can directly unscrew its nut to remove the water outlet pipe. Install hoses at the water inlet and outlet of the booster pump respectively, and install them at the water outlet of the solar water heater. If it is a ppr water pipe, we can use a knife to cut off a part of the ppr water outlet pipe, place the booster pump, the direction of the arrow is the direction of the water flow, and connect the ppr pipe to the water inlet and outlet of the booster pump by means of hot melt connection.

3. Inspection

We open the water valve, plug in the power plug of the booster pump, and set the switch to automatic mode. Then we turn on the faucet switch of the solar water heater to check whether the water from the shower is normal. Generally, we need to discharge the water for half an hour. After the water heater is normal, you can use expansion screws to fix it on the wall or the ground, or we can put it on the bracket. If the booster pump is installed outdoors, you also need to do relevant protection work to prevent the booster pump from being drenched by rainwater, etc.
